Habib – Dr Habib Joseph Behi (Senior Certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist)

Dr Behi qualified in Medicine in 2000 (UK) and undertook specialist training in Psychiatry in Wales, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) in 2007, Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (GMC UK) and since moving to Australia in 2011 has gained Fellowship with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (2013). Habib has worked across community based, day units, emergency departments, detention centres and hospital units (inpatient) environments looking after children, adolescents and young adults with mental illness and psychological problems.

Dr Wahaib is a Senior Consultant General Psychiatrist with 24 years experience in Psychiatry. Dr Wahaib graduated in 1986 MBCHB, with three qualifications in Psychiatry, 1994 FICMS, 2001 CAB, 2012 FRANZCP. He has been working in Australia since 2008, moving to the area from Tasmania in 2012. He is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist in Shellharbour Hospital, and a Senior Clinical Lecturer in the UOW.

Abdul graduated from medical school in 1990, during his work as medical officer in various specialties he was especially attracted to psychiatry. He was awarded with the Fellowship of Psychiatry by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry in 2008. Dr Burhan established the Shellharbour Psychological Medicine Clinic aiming to offer a holistic model of care to all of his clients.
Dr Burhan has extensive experience in all areas of psychiatry and a sound background in general medicine.

Dev –Dr Dev Lakshmanan (Senior Psychiatrist) – General Adult and Psychiatry of Old Age

Dr Lakshmanan qualified in Medicine in 1997 and undertook specialist training in Psychiatry in India, obtaining Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2002 at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, an Institute of National Importance. Dr Lakshmanan obtained Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) in 2006 & Certificate in Old Age Psychiatry (CCT GMC UK) in 2010. Dr Lakshmanan also gained Fellowship with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2019.

Dr Lakshmanan has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist/ Psychogeriatrician in various settings such as community, Inpatient unit, hospital liaison and care home liaison for 9 years in UK and in Australia. He has extensive experience in the management of a broad range of mental health conditions including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders and cognitive impairment.

Dr Lakshmanan is able to provide mental health care for adults and elderly patients. And he is also be available to do nursing home visits in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven area.

 

Mohamed -Dr Mohamed Abouhamar (Consultant Psychiatrist) General Adult Psychiatry

Mohamad – Dr Abouhamar qualified in medicine in 1992 and undertook specialist psychiatry training in Egypt. Dr Abouhamar has 25 years of experience in psychiatry overseas and in Australia. He was awarded with the Fellowship of Psychiatry by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry in 2019.
